About Me
My name is Kevin Cosby of course, and I'm an avid fan of graphics and the softwares that enable my creative side. I originally became aquainted with computers when I owned and operated a landscape business for eight years. The first year or two I had to draw my designs by hand. They weren't bad, but they weren't great either. That's when I began using my pc and printer....daily. What a world of difference. I also began eBaying during this period and was thrilled to find that I could stray from their 'basic' layouts by hosting my own pictures and writing my own html for the listings.
In 2000, I began selling retail. This is when I launched my first website to boost sales. And that it did. I had nearly 800 different items listed and did everything from writing the html, taking the pictures, researching the competition, creating fliers, posting ads, commercials and anything else associated with promoting my business. It was a fantastic ride untill 911 hit. Retail sales plummeted and shortly after, the market I was in drastically changed due to corrupt management of my distributors and the top manufacturers of my number one selling product line. Needless to say, many of them are 'out of business' now. I got out while I could and returned to Louisville, KY in 2002.
I freelanced for over a year and eventually inquired about a graphics position at a local business. Two days later I started what was to be a three and a half year endeavor as the engraver/graphic artist at an awards center. Again, my computer experience enabled me to pick right up in this new market. I setup and produced countless awards, from simple trophy tags to intricate and detailed layouts such as replicating a magazine cover and article to be laminated as one unit, reproducing damaged awards, designing event awards/plaques and eventually sublimation, which I absolutely loved.
Due to employer lack of work, and the desire to possibly venture on my own, I'm now seeking other opportunities. If you have an interest in using my abilities as an employee, are in need of your own personal/business website or as a possible partner in a joint business venture, please contact me with details.
Again, THANK YOU for visiting my website.
